Letter from Elder Sleet 4/18/2011

I'm doing great. We have lots of people we are teaching. We just started teaching mark, he is a magician, This past week he believed what we have been teaching him, but he did not want to read the Book of Mormon. He came to church and loved it. He said he felt good about it. I thought it was a different Sunday since they talk about the parables of Jesus Christ in sacrament. The talks were way good. The Bishop's wife talked and she did a great job. In the in Gospel Principle class, we talked about the priesthood organization and the teacher pulled out all the references from the Bible, which was good for Mark. Then in Elders Quorum we had a talk on tithing. Then we finally had some sort of Book of Mormon reference. After church we had a fireside and we watch "The Testament." It is a fictional movie on 3 Nephi. It's way cool, you should watch it and invite some friend to family home evening and watch it. He missed the first part, which worked perfectly because I got to explain what was going on. Which helped him understand what the Book of Mormon is and he and wants to read it.

Other then that, we been trying to help people get to church. We are checking on referrals and former investigators. The list has 70 people that we have to stop by and see if they want to be taught. Elder Anderson and I were told not to tract until those names are checked on so that when future missionaries come in this area, they wont be over whelmed. But it's over whelming us! We have 15 people and growing that we are teaching. Its hard to keep up with the people and there needs, when there so many of them. We had 8 baptismal dates 2 weeks ago all fall through since we could find ways to get them to church. Every night, I do what my roommates call "poof." We go over the day update all or books, then plan for the next day. Afterwards there a pile of stuff every where!

I haven't heard anything about the fires in Texas, so I'm guessing it not near me. I think I need to send you guys a notarized letter to get my DL, I'm working on it. I wanted to know if you can send me a blender? The last elder that left took our with him. i hope you guys are well.

That's crazy that Brother Smith moved. I want to to see what he was up to, when i got back.

Elder Sleet,

We are so proud of you. It is cool to read your letters and see how you are losing yourself in the work. You are humble, willing to work hard, and you let the Lord do the rest. That is a perfect formula for success!
