Letter from Elder Sleet 10/10/2011

Hi how is it going with you guys?

I'm doing great!  Yes Mom, I use my bike a lot, in fact I get to use it everyday!  We might be using our bikes a little less.  We have a vision on getting members out with us, one hour a day, during week day except Mondays.  So far this week is filled up and bleeding over to the next week.  Another thing we are trying is to go over to more members houses that we don't know as much.   Yeah, I told you about the plan with us doing the phone calls down the ward list, but this is a new plan.  The ward counsel is helping out with getting us in to these people's homes.  They assigned the elder quorum president to ask those families if they be willing to feed us.  If they cant then see if we can stop by and share a lesson.  I'm not sure if this is something you would be interested to try.

Elder Robbins is heading back to Utah and he is going through the phases, of going home sickness a.k.a. trunky!  The departing missionaries I seen that too many times before.  Yeah I'm right now keeping pretty good contacts with the other 2 comps that went home, now 2 more of my comps will be heading back in 3 weeks so we'll see if I keep in touch with them too.

I had a pretty good week.  Monday I got to hang out with some old missionary friends that are still left in the mission.  We had a awesome pday.  We talked to 125 people through out this week taught two lessons with members.  One person we taught was Donald.   We have been teaching him for awhile now.   We stopped by with Brother Cook, our ward mission leader.  The lesson was fun we got to talk to him on what he wants to get out of life and what he been searching for.   He promised to read before we stop by again.

Then we stop by a Gladys knight referral, Estella, with Bro.Naronjo the elders quorum pres.  Estella was excited to see us see told us that she read the Book of Mormon before and been wanting to read it again.   She was happy that we came with one.

Other then that, we had a lot of member visits and finding.   It's good to hear how you guys doing.   Seeing the pics of Samuel was weird.  It just how you described him.  He look as if you photoshop his head on to someone else body!  That awesome that his winning the medal.  I hope you guys are still good and I'll write you guys next week to let you know a little bit on whats going.

bye
